Spring is here! We are doing all kinds of fun things to celebrate.
Two weeks ago we brought in real caterpillars who have now turned into butterflies. We were so proud of your children for being so gentle with them. What a better way to bring in the new season of Spring than by planting seeds? Nikki and Liora decided to show the children what the planting process looks like with bean sprouts (see photo) and basil seeds in hand painted pots. We have been getting ready for the Passover holiday. A wonderful time to enjoy a Seder with family and friends. We will even have a Seder at school on Wednesday, April 5th at 11:00. We began with some fun songs and a felt board story introducing Moses and King Pharaoh. We talked about the Seder plate , what colors we see and what goes on it. We wore silly masks about the ten plagues. We ate matzah with cream cheese and baked matzah pizza. Music with Teacher Andrew included our favorite Passover songs and musical instruments to play with, enjoy that cute photo too. Nikki and Liora Dates to Remember: Wednesday the 5th of April is our seder at 11:00 Spring Break Vacation is 10-21st to view updates and photos from First Steps-RoomC http://wiseschool.weebly.com/

What another fun week for Room C. We had so much fun last Friday at Shabbat. Please enjoy the meaningful photos of the children.
We continued to talk about colors. We looked at colors in the rainbow. We did felt stories of Little Mouse in the colored house and Brown Bear with his colorful friends. The children each called out different colors when they saw them. They even sat in the shape of a rainbow and pretended to be a different color. We planted seeds of Italian basil in hand painted pots to remind us of spring. We started to talk about Passover, sing songs and do felt stories. Frogs here, frogs there, frogs are jumping everywhere! Save the Date because On Wednesday April 5th, There will be a Seder at school. The parents from Room C and Room D along with the children will all come together to celebrate Passover. We will let you know what time next week, possibly at 11:00 a.m. Please, we ask you to please keep their wonderful siblings at home. We would love you to be able to give your First Steps child your complete attention during the Seder. Thank you. Nikki and Liora This week has been another special week together.
On Monday we all walked over to the new construction site. The children were able to place a hand print or finger print on a metal beam. This special beam, signed by all the children at Wise, will be a permanent beam supporting this new building. How special is that! We also discussed what a chrysalis and caterpillar are. We read the book The Hungry Caterpillar. The teachers brought in five real chrysalis's to show the children. They each gave them a name. Elmo, Seashell, Fish, Tiger and of course Moana. Along with creating art projects of butterflies, it was another special week. In the next weeks we will begin to discuss the meaning of Passover Nikki and Liora Dear Parents,
This week was so much fun! So much to celebrate! We enjoyed all the fun Purim stories and songs. The children became familiar with the characters and stories. Playing with our Gorgers was the best part!. We went to Beit Issie and got to enjoy some tasty fruits and veggies from the Farmers Market. Friday we walked to temple for Purim Shabbat services. The teachers put on a show for the kids about the holiday and it was very silly. Each day it is a pleasure to be with your children. Next week is Parent teacher conferences and we look forward to sitting down with you to talk about your child’s development. Reminders- No class on Wednesday and Purim Carnival on Sunday.
