Dear Parents,
Each day your child comes to school they are developing and learning as they participate in activities in every center of our classroom. While playing they are improving their language, social, physical, math, science and thinking skills. Throughout the day, our friends in Room 11 have the opportunity to participate in structured and non-structured play. When we play with puzzles, play dough, count and sort toys; the children are learning math skills. They develop social and emotional skills in play by sharing, taking turns, resolving conflict and learning to self-regulate. Playing outdoors helps develop large motor skills. Art projects help develop fine motor skills. Reading books independently and with a teacher, helps develop cognitive skills. All of these skills are learned through play! Your children are having fun and also learning valuable skills when they come to school. What stood out most this week was seeing our friends play together and listening to them communicate with each other. They have made such progress using their words and being good friends to each other. We enjoyed a lovely Shabbat in the classroom all together as well as in the Temple with all of the EC classes. It was a fun all school Shabbat ~singing along with Ditza and hearing Rabbi Josh tell a Shabbat story. Have a lovely weekend! Shabbat Shalom! Genene, Melinda and Judy
