Hello Room 21 Families,
We continued our discussions of the holiday of Tu B’Shevat, and we learned that this is the holiday during which we celebrate the trees. We sang songs and told stories related to the concept of creating life in regard to trees, as well as what they provide for us and animals. We continued our work at circle time, classifying different fruits and animals that live in trees through a felt board story. We also engaged in conversations about how some toys are made from plastic and some are made from wood. We set up a sensory station for your children to touch and work with soil. They used shovels and their hands to transfer the soil from point A to point B. Your children had the opportunity to wear gardening gloves and fill up pots, which we will further explore next week, when we will also incorporate a variety of seeds. To end our week, we got to celebrate David’s third birthday together on Shabbat. Thank you for the yummy treats and for sharing your birthday with all of us. We loved watching David participate in being Shabbat boy. Have a wonderful weekend! Shabbat Shalom, Lashelle, Michelle and Jen
