Trains, Planes, Automobiles and School Buses......
This week was all about learning about transportation. Through play, our friends experienced different ways they can get from one place to another. We asked the children in Room 25, "How did you get to school today? What color is your Mommy's car? What color is your daddy's car? Have you ever been on a plane?, What sound does a train make?" Some of the responses we heard were: "My Mommy drive me to school today. My daddy got a new car. It's black. I went on a train. I went on plane in the sky. Want to come with me in my mommy's car? Make train." By providing cars, planes, trains, buses and bicycles to play with, our friends learned first hand about different ways to travel. We also sang "The Wheels on the Bus" and "Here Comes the Choo Choo Train." It's amazing how much learning is happening in our classroom while the children are playing and having fun! While playing with the vehicles, the children were exposed to prepositions like next to, on top, under, over etc. We also made our own chocolate milk, this week. First, our friends poured milk in a cup and then squeezed in the chocolate syrup. They mixed the ingredients together with a spoon watching as the chocolate syrup dispersed into the milk and then of course, we drank it all up. We talked about cause and effect noticing the milk was initially white and then turned brown when we squeezed in the chocolate syrup and mixed it. As they enjoyed the beverage, we could hear the children proudly exclaiming, "I did it!" Passover is around the corner and we are having a class Seder on Wednesday, April 13th. We hope all of you parents will join us for this special event. Stay tuned for more details. Thank you to Skyler and her family for joining us for Shabbat. It's wonderful to celebrate together as a community and to see so many generations on the bimah. We also want to thank you all for bringing carrots and tzedakah for the Farmer's Market. We so appreciate it and the children really enjoyed this opportunity to take part in giving back to others. Wishing you and your family Shabbat Shalom and a beautiful weekend! Love, Marcela and Judy
