Spring is in the air and it’s been a great week in Room 25! We started off our week, along with all of our EC friends, going to Temple and participating in a very special Havdalah service. Rabbi Josh lit a braided candle, and along with Teacher Brock we sang the blessings over the candle, grape juice and B'samim (spice box). What a great way to start off our week as a community! Thank you to Rabbi Josh and Teacher Brock! In honor of Purim, our friends had the opportunity to dress up in our dramatic play area. As your child pretends to be a fireman, a doctor, a princess or a frog, they are trying on different roles. They are expanding their creativity and imagination, problem-solving and negotiating with their friends, and learning about abstract thinking. It’s fun and it’s an activity that all of our friends love to do. In addition, we made hamantaschen out of paper plates. First, the children painted the plate, and once dry, we helped them fold it into the shape of a hamantasch- the next step was stuffing it with different colored tissue paper. The children were very proud of themselves, as we hung them up in our classroom. Ask your children, what color tissue paper they chose. Thank you to Elliott, and his family for celebrating Shabbat with us. The plant looked beautiful on our Shabbat table and the challah was delicious. Purim Shabbat was so much fun. All of our friends loved going to Temple in costume and hearing the Purim story. Just a reminder: Next week is the Farmer's Market and all the proceeds will go to Beit Issie Shapiro in Israel. Please bring in carrots, no later than next Thursday. Thank you so much! We wish you Shabbat Shalom, Happy Purim and a beautiful weekend! Marcela and Judy
