Shalom Ulpanon Bet Families,
This week was geared in the spirit of forgiveness as we continued our learning about Yom Kippur. On Tuesday morning, we had a Tashlich ceremony for our students by using a kiddie pool filled with water. Each child was given the opportunity to “throw” away the choice that they were not proud of and afterwards, we discussed how we could make better choices in the coming year. We had our first music class at the music lab with Maestro David Kates. The PreK music lab classes are divided into three parts: our students visit the listening bar to enjoy a genre of music while watching a short film; they then move on to keyboard instruction on a Mac computer and then we close out each week with an amazing drum circle while Maestro leads us in song. On Friday we had our first Beit Issie Farmer’s Market of the year to benefit our good friend Nika who attends this amazing school is Israel for students with special needs. The children enjoyed “buying” their own fruits and knowing that 100% of all proceeds go to support Nika makes the experience even more special. We thank you for your contributions. Today was Emma’s special Shabbat. Reminders: Saturday, September 26: Tot Shabbat in Hershenson Hall with Rabbi Josh and Ditza Monday, September 28: School will be closed in observance of Sukkot. Friday, October 2: Jordan’s special Shabbat. Shabbat Shalom and have a wonderful weekend. Warmly, Talia and Meirav
