Shalom Ulpanon Bet Families,
We had another fun and very full week in our class. Not only did we have music with Maestro, where we learned about different types of instruments and were invited to play some of them, but also, we had music with Ditza where we sang along in Hebrew. On Monday, we continued exploring patterns. We made patterns out of Unifex cubes and plastic chains that connect. Last week, as you read, the children discussed how the holidays occur in a specific order each year and then repeat year after year making a pattern. Building on this idea, we looked at four cards each depicting a specific season: fall, winter, spring, and summer. The children studied each scene and used clues from the illustration to determine the season being portrayed. After identifying all four seasons and the typical weather patterns of each of them, we determined it is now fall. Since we have the most beautiful campus, we took advantage of our scenery and went on a nature walk to observe our surroundings. We noticed the trees have less leaves and the leaves are on the ground turning shades of orange and brown. Each child had their own bag and they were able to collect any fall items of their choice. This week we also defined what a question is and how they can ask questions in order to find out information. We will continue to discuss patterns, questions, and fall. We will also extend our learning on what a statement is. Reminders: On Friday October 30th, it will be Geffen’s special Shabbat. And on Wednesday, October 28th it will be Geffen’s library time. On Wednesday, October 28th, we have an early dismissal at 12pm, followed by Parent/Teacher conferences. On Thursday, October 29th, there is NO SCHOOOL, as we will continue with Parent/Teacher conferences. Thank you for another great week! We will see you on Monday. Shabbat Shalom, Warmly, Talia & Meirav
