Shalom Ulpanon Bet families,
This week was about celebration. We had a blast at our Hanukkah party and we are so proud of the children’s performance. They were confident performing, happily singing, knew all the lyrics to the songs, movements, dancing, and were able to tell the story of Hanukkah. This week the children made Sevivon (Dreidel) by gluing the Hebrew letters on it and decorating it. They are able to recognize the Hebrew letter and the meaning of it. The children know that the dreidel in Israel has one different letter on it. Thank you for participating in “light up Literacy” by buying a bracelet for $2. A book is being donated to a child in Guatemala. In the main office each class has poster-candles with the contribution from the class. We visited the office together to give them the money and show the children our candle-contribution. On Friday we had our Shuk- farmers market, the children enjoyed “buying” the fruit of their choice and eating it at the market. We also had a science lab….it was very interesting! We have 6th graders visiting from Israel and today they came to our classroom. They read them a story in Hebrew and they got to spend a few minutes interacting together. We went to the science lab on Friday, we learned about the 5 senses and how we use them to take in information. We also learned about the bearded dragon and how he uses his senses to survive. This week was Leah’s special Shabbat and her family came to celebrate with us. Shabbat Shalom and Chag Hanukkah Sameach, Reminders:
With much appreciation, Meirav & Talia
