Shalom Ulpanon Bet Families, This week we continued exploring the four seasons with a focus on autumn. The children learned a Hebrew song about the seasons. Here is a link to the song your child sang it in class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm_WG-Q-EaA We were discussing how a tree looks during fall. We paid particular attention to: the colors of the leaves, what happens to the leaves as they fall off the tree and the parts of the tree. In our journal page, each child drew a tree and shared about trees and we recorded their words. The journals are posted on the wall in our classroom, please come flip through them. Your children have very interesting ideas to share. We also played a game called: “what is missing” utilizing the puzzlement cards depicting the four seasons. After placing only three of the four cards out in front of us, the children used critical thinking skills to guess the missing season. All of this was done in Hebrew, of course. Ulpanon Bet friends ate lunch with their fifth grade buddies and enjoyed it. This was a nice experience we will continue throughout the year. As usual, we also had two interesting music classes with Maestro and Ditza this week. Mom, Merav, read us books in the library such as, Little Miss Spider and When Sophie Gets Angry. It was Geffen's special Shabbat, her mom Merav came to celebrate with us. We were so happy to meet and discuss your wonderful children with you during our conferences. We know greatness will continue in this special Ulpanon Bet class. We would like to maintain an open line of communication with all of you, so please feel free to contact us with any questions, comments or concerns. On Friday , Ali Turtle, one of our EC Administrators, came to the classroom to read us the book: Circle Of Smiles, by Sylvia Rouss. This story is about Beit Issie Shapiro, which is where our school Tezedakah goes. We discussed what a mitzvah is and especially talked about about Mitzvah Day at Wise, this Sunday, November 1st. We hope you will attend! Reminders: - Mitzvah day is this Sunday from 11-1:15. Please remember to bring the Tzedakah Box we made in class. - Elad’s special Shabbat is on Friday 11-6-15 Shabbat Shalom and have a great weekend, Meirav and Talia
