Welcome Back!
Hope you all enjoyed winter break! Speaking of Winter, we have been discussing with the children the changes of the weather. We made pretend snow in the sensory bin and the children have been exploring with it by making snowballs, touching it and seeing what animals live in the snow. We have also been reading books about snowmen and for our art activity this week, the children created their own snowman by using a plunger to create the body. This also led to a conversation about shapes, especially circles. We went on a nature walk to collect sticks to create the arms and mouth and found seed pods to create the eyes. Our floortime activity consisted of a little people village. The children were placing the animals in their "homes" and watching the cars and tractors go around the track. It made a lot of different noises depending on where the children pushed the button. It was a huge success and prompted a lot of conversations and turn taking amongst the children. We have seen several children starting to show interest in going to the potty. This is also showing new social skills. As of next week, we will be actively encouraging these new potty training skills. If your child is showing interest, please send in pullups/underwear and lots of extra clothes, including socks and shoes. Thank you to Olivia and her family for celebrating Shabbat with us today and for bringing in a delicious snack! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and we will see you on Monday. Michelle, Marloes and Tatiana
