Shalom Ulpanon Bet Families,
To start off the week we had a staff development day for the teachers. The teachers got to enjoy a wonderful lecture from Dr. Marc Milstein. He gave us a lot of insight into the brain and how the development occurs in a child. We continued to learn about and explore the meaning behind Thanksgiving. We learned two songs about Chag Ha’Hodaya (Thanksgiving). The children enjoyed singing these songs and loved learning them. They were even singing the songs solo in front of the class. We made headbands, which were inspired by the Native Americans. During our Thanksgiving celebration next week they will be able to were their headbands. Hanukkah will be here right after Thanksgiving. We began reading some stories about Hannukah and learned Or VaEsh (light and fire) song. In class we worked on sorting. We sorted tiles and jewels for our Hanukkiyout. We also had a whole school lock down drill and everyone was calm and cooperated. The lock down drill went very smoothly. This Friday was Eitan’s special Shabbat and his family came to celebrate with us.
