Dear Parents,
We started off with a very wet week. The children were real troopers as we spent our days inside with rainy day activities. They were very responsible with their personal belongings, as the lugged around rain boots, umbrellas, jackets, and backpacks. As a yummy treat the children made their own pizzas and garnished them with different toppings. We continued the week talking about Martin Luther King Jr., and we took the opportunity to explore concepts such as kindness, peace, speeches, and dreams. We shared a video clip about Martin Luther King, Jr. The video talked about him in a very simple way, showing his childhood, and touching on his hardships and success throughout his life. The children loved the short clip and listened intently to MLK Jr.'s voice, as he spoke to the masses of people about his dream for unity and peace. After we viewed the video, the discussion with the children naturally led to how we are different and how we are the same. We talked about how wonderful it is that we can all be friends. The conversation was simple, sweet, and sincere. On Wednesday, the children enjoyed a trip to the Library, thank you to Rhonda Moradzadeh for joining us and reading to the children. The children enjoyed going to the Temple and celebrating Shabbat. We thank the Gabayzadeh family for joining us and making the day more memorable. Please enjoy your long weekend, and we will see you on Wednesday, January 17th.
