Dear Parents,
It has been a very nice week. The children have enjoyed the beautiful weather and have spent a lot of time outdoors. As the end of the year approaches, there is a lot to be done, and we find it is a time when children experience a lot of different emotions. We spent some time this week asking the children to reflect on some things they learned this year in both work and play. Kaitlyn said, "I learned to write my name." Tatiana said, "I learned more letters." Sophia said, "I learned how to read." Dylan said, "I don't cry when my mom drops me off." Young children have the capability of making decisions, informed choices, and accessing their progress on their choices. As teachers, we all want or children to succeed in life. We want them to be effective problem solvers, set goals, and achieve them. Setting goals and working towards them teaches children perseverance. This is an important skill in life and one they will need as they continue their academic journey. The children spent quality time this week practicing songs for their Pre K celebration. They are enjoying learning new songs, as well as perfecting some they already know. Shabbat was enjoyed in the classroom and celebrated all together in the Temple. We thank the Tavakoli family for joining us and making the day more memorable.
