We used Pixie (Tech4Learning) to create a slide show featuring our digital art. Students exhibited maximum creativity and digital skills. We brainstormed concepts about Rosh Hashana and how we celebrate the holiday. We learned to use the paint brush tool and adjust for texture, color and size. We learned to open a new document and save the document to a shared classroom folder. We learned to use the text box feature to add our names. Afterschool Update:
Keyboarding Class is now full. Please email [email protected] if you would like to be on the wait list. Robotics Class is now full: Please email [email protected], if you would like to be on the wait list. Our fourth graders have been learning the ins and outs of our new fourth grade MacBook Cart and our new suite of Google Apps for Education tools.
After learning the basics of checking out MacBooks and logging into the Google App Accounts, fourth graders began to work on the first issue of our school newspaper, Call of the Wildcats. We used Google Forms to generate some ideas for articles and interviews and are now using Google Docs to write our article, interview questions, surveys and reader polls. If you are interested in keyboarding classes, then you need to be in Lab 32 from 3:30 - 4:30 on Mondays. Come right after school, bring your own snack if you want. See Ms. Hoffman for details and to register.
