Dear Parents,
This week sure was a memorable one! We had 3 fun filled days of learning and celebrating. On Monday, we started our week with Havdalah services in the temple with Teacher Brock and Rabbi Josh. We sang and took part in the blessings to mark the ending of the last Shabbat and the start of a new week leading up to the next Shabbat. After Havdalah we made our way to the N1 yard for a whole new play experience. The children explored the new toys, sand box and a tree that was just perfect for climbing. Next, we dove right back into our preparations for Passover and the upcoming Seder on Wednesday. We talked more about what to expect, the foods on the Seder plate and what they symbolize. We read, “Hooray Its Passover” and “Its Seder Time!”. We sang some of our new favorite songs, “Bang, Bang, Bang," "Listen, Oh Listen” and the ever popular, “Frogs.” It seems that we learned so much about Passover in only a few short weeks and were now ready to host our families in our classroom for our first school Seder. The children were so excited for the celebration. The practice Seder was beautiful. Teacher Sue led us in the special blessings and the children followed along, dipping the parsley, raising a special silver kiddush cup and for some, tasting their first sips of grape juice. We could all feel the special importance of these rituals! It was truly a lovely experience. We want to thank all of you for your contributions and for being part of the celebration. As a class, we have really formed a nice community we are so proud to be part of. Wrapping up the week, we feel very thankful to share in another Shabbat celebration together. Joelle Kohan was Shabbat girl. She was so proud of herself! We congratulate you, Joelle! Also, we want to send a big thank you to the Kohan family for your participation. We want to wish all of our children and families a very happy Passover and a safe, relaxing and fun spring break. Class resumes on Monday, May 2. Shabbat Shalom & enjoy your break, Sue and Anita *Reminder- The week of our return is Mother's and Grandmother's Week and we will be hosting a breakfast in our classroom on Wednesday (May 4th) please join us for a special morning.
