Dear Parents of Room 20,
We had such a fun week here at Wise School. We began with our Havdalah service led by Jen. The children sang songs in Hebrew in honor of Israel’s birthday, and we started our week off by smelling the spices and saying the prayers over the candle. Also in honor of Israel’s birthday, the children baked Israel a cake and decorated it in the colors that are on the Israeli flag. The class made Israeli flags that were brought to our lovely Shabbat service and we paraded around singing songs and having so much fun. This week the students enjoyed making shapes out of rubber bands, requiring fine motor skills to stretch the bands and identify basic shapes such as triangles and squares. We had dollhouses available and the children used their imagination to play house and create roles for themselves. We also created flowers that are now displayed on our walls. The children first chose their colors and painted these paper plates and stems. They then used their fine motor skills to cut the petals and glue the pieces together. Thank you so much to David’s family for joining us for Shabbat and bringing delicious snacks. Reminder: Mother’s and Grandmother’s Shabbat is next Friday May 12th. Please feel free to come join us for some play in the morning, there is a brunch at 10am and Shabbat will be at 11am. Shabbat Shalom, Marloes, Michelle and Tatiana
