This week the first graders were hard at work practicing for our Light Up Literacy performance. Thank you to everyone that helped to make this performance a huge success!
Phonics In phonics this week our focus was on long "a". Math In math this week we our continuing our unit on numbers up to 20. We compared sets of numbers and discussed the terms more/greater and less/fewer. Hebrew/Judaic Studies In Hebrew and Judaic studies this week we focused on Hanukkah and had a lovely Hanukkah party in class. We played dreidle, made picture frames, and decorated and ate delicious Hanukkah cookies! Homework Homework should not take your child more than 10 or 15 minutes. This should not include reading, which should be a separate 10 minutes every night. After your child has finished reading (with you, or by him or herself), please sign your initials on their reading calendar. In addition, please practice the weekly spelling words every night with your child.
