Ulpanon Alef Dear Parents, This week for Simhat Torah we visited the main Temple to show the children the different Torah scrolls that live in the Temple's ark. The children could see how heavy each Torah was however we felt it would be meaningful for them to experience the sanctity of our Jewish roots. We show the children all sizes of the Torah. The children had the opportunity to touch the Torah. While in the sanctuary, we sang our Torah holiday songs and took a lot of pictures beside the open ark and next to the Torah. During one of our art centers, each child made their own Torah using water color paints. We now have a new music component to our weekly schedule. Ditza Zakay will be coming to our classroom every Tuesday before lunchtime so that the class can sing special songs in Hebrew. We introduced the color yellow, tzhov, and reinforced our studies by using yellow paints for one art activity and by gluing yellow materials onto paper during another center time.. Here are some important reminders for next week: Please send your child's helmet, labeled. Also please sign the permission form in our classroom if you have not already done so. Library Guest Reader on October 13: Logan's mom, Rebeka Professional Development Day, on Friday, October 16 - school is closed Wishing you all a very meaningful Shabbat - Mira & Miri
