This week began our unit on Purim. We listened and learned songs for this happy holiday. Did you know it is a Mitzvah to be happy on Purim?
”My Hat, It Has Three Corners,” and many more. We are learning the story of Megillat Esther and the children learned the characters in the story and will be choosing which one they’d like to be: Melech Ahashverosh, Malkat Esther, Vashti, Mordechai and Haman. In addition, they will be decorating crowns to represent the characters they have chosen. We are continuing to review the children’s names on a daily bases and the children are able to recognize their names and their friend’s names. We read Baxter, The Pig Who Wanted to Be Kosher and decided to make fresh pickles with the kids. Ask your child to show you the jar in our room and the ingredients we used inside.
