We began this week with the story of Noah’s Ark (Tevah), as it is the Parshat Hashavuah of the week. The children have taken a huge interest in this story, exploring the animal names in Hebrew and learning the story through the book, props, songs and toys. We are using wooden blocks and planks to build Noah’s Ark with animals in couples (Zoogot). Some of the children drew sketches of Noah’s Ark, which we will display at a later time. We will continue working on this theme for the next couple weeks alongside our upcoming (Stav) Fall unit. Please take your child on a neighborhood nature walk to collect leaves, pinecones, branches, bark of various shapes, sizes and colors that will last throughout this season. We went on our own nature walk this week after Library and picnicked behind the Sanctuary. This week, the children climbed onto boulders and used their gross motor skills to do so. If you have not yet signed up for Tricycle Express or brought in a helmet for your child, please do so this coming week.
