Dear Parents,
The children have been so busy this week! We started the week off working on Purim crafts and playing dressing up. The children used water colors and large paint brushed to paint capes creating a really beautiful tie dye-like effect as the colors run together. Next we practiced our self help skills by dressing and undressing ourselves in the brightly colored robes, jewelry and crowns just like kings and queens! We sat for a Purim puppet story and even shook hands with Queen Esther and Uncle Mordecai. The children have really become familiar with the story of Purim and its heroes! We have also been keeping a close eye on our fuzzy friend, Mr. Caterpillar and are anxiously waiting to see when he will build his cocoon. Watching the metamorphosis of the caterpillar to a butterfly first hand is a wonderful early science experience. It demonstrates the role of sequence in life cycle stages for our little ones. The children check on him often and he has become a true part of our class! We will keep you updated on his progress (and the other that are already in cocoon stage). In other exciting news, The Dayani's welcomed a brand new baby boy to their family! We want to congratulate big brother Michael and send our warmest wishes to the whole family! What a blessing- Mazel Tov! Also we'd like to thank all of the room 21 parents for taking the time to sit down with us for parent teacher conferences this week. What a pleasure to chat with you and know that we are all on the same page as we partner to promote the growth and development of your children. We really enjoyed sharing stories and laughs! Lets keep the conversations going- don't hesitate to ask questions or share with us. Don't forget to come to the Purim Carnival this Sunday (3/20) from 11am-4pm. It is sure to be a blast! Shabbat Shalom, Sue & Anita
