Thank you Parents! This week we celebrated our amazing WPA and all of the parents that help us each and every day. Thank you for helping Wise School MAKE GREAT HAPPEN! We just love when we can have Art, Music, Technology, Science, Engineering, Reading, Writing, Judaic Studies, and Public Speaking all come together in one. The Living Hero Museum was a lovely celebration of all of these things. The students made incredible inventions in Project Studio, delightful masks and representations of their heroes in Art, honest writings about their personal heroes in Judaic Studies, written and oral presentations were prepared in their General Studies classrooms and of course the creative songs they prepared in Music were all displayed beautifully in our museum. Thanks to Mr. Foonberg and Mrs. Van Noppen for the following pictures. Please Enjoy. This year in Art, the second graders explored other cultures and made clay bowls just like people do in Mexico. We then celebrated Cinco de Mayo by putting chips in our bowls and eating them with salsa and guacamole. We looked at some other Mexican art and culture learning about Sombreros and woven clothing. Look for our bowls at the Art Show during Open House next week! Pajama DayWe started off the day on Wednesday with a giant slumber party! Everyone snuggled up in the Sanctuary as our beloved Mr. Stahl read us an all-time favorite bedtime story, Goodnight Moon. Then we got together with our 4th grade buddies, shared cookies and milk as they read us some stories in Hebrew. What a fun day! STEM NightOn Wednesday, April 29 we had a wonderful night celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. One of the things that the families were able to do was make Rube Goldberg machines in Project Studio.
Here is a quick video of Talia Foonberg and Ms. Twersky celebrating the success of Talia's Rube Goldberg Machine. She was trying to get the bells in the cup to ring by having a ping pong ball drop inside. Coming Up...May 6 - Spirit Day - PAJAMA DAY!
