Students in Mrs. Hechtman's reading class had their film premiere Friday morning of their public service announcements. We walked the red carpet and took photos before taking our seats at the premiere! Students researched various topics pertaining to elephant behavior, elephants in zoos and circuses, and the poaching of elephants. They then worked together in teams to produce and film their own PSAs which we presented to the class this morning. Be on the lookout for the videos on the Weebly page soon!
Fourth Grade has had some really amazing times the past two weeks! Last week's STEM Fair was a huge success and the 4th grade raised quite a bit of money for their Hesed project. The proceeds of which will be donated to the SOVA pantry to provide food for families who need it. What a great example of making great happen and the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam! Students also got real-world experience running a store and dealing with the mathematics relating to sales and profit. Thank you to all the students and parents who made this night a success! Wednesday was a fantastic School Spirit Day with Pajama Day! 4th graders read to their 2nd grade buddies in Hebrew using books on the iPads. They also enjoyed cozying up and having some yummy milk and cookies! Just another example of experiencing wholeness and making great happen at Wise!
