Maccabi Games Order Forms Yesterday, your child was sent home with an order form for the Maccabi Games Spirit Items available for purchase. These items may be purchased with a check payable to the Wise WPA, or you may order online by clicking here. Please note: There is a hard deadline for these orders no later than next Friday, May 13th so that the items are delivered in time for the Maccabi Games which will be held on June 7th at Woodley Park. Yom Ha'Atzmaut (next week!)Parents, please read the email sent by your child's teachers regarding the items they will need to bring to school on Monday, May 8th. We need these items so that we can ensure that the costumes are set and we can carry out our dress rehearsals. We are very much looking forward to you seeing the children's hard work in this performance! Please be sure your child is here at 6:00 pm so that we can begin preparing for the show. QuizletParents, you may have noticed that your child is studying their Word Wisdom words on Quizlet this week rather than using the pink, yellow, and blue index cards.
The fourth grade teachers are transitioning all students to using Quizlet online to help them create online study aids and give them tools to study independently using online flashcards and tests/games using the words and definitions that your child inputs. This mimics the way that students will be learning and studying their words in 5th grade. We encourage you to go online to see the website if you have any questions. The students have already learned how to use the site independently and were given specific instructions in class. Due to ERB preparation and testing, we will not be giving Word Wisdom quizzes this week and next week, but your child should still study the words in anticipation of a test on them after ERBs. Thank you! Thursday's Modern Passover Seder was a huge success filled with deep learning and a real feeling of wholeness as we celebrated our rich heritage. Students were encouraged to share unanswered questions that had been thought out ahead of time and their peers responded with their perspectives. Students also had opportunities to share their own Passover traditions in both Hebrew and English. A huge thank you to the Fourth Grade Team and to the parent volunteers that helped prepare the food and other items and those who came and helped with set up. We appreciate you! They also used a historically accurate model of a mission to identify the different parts of the mission and their functions. What a great way to sum up their learning about the California Missions! Big thanks to Mr. Meth for his help in creating a fantastic Project Studio experience for our students!
