The past two weeks, students in fourth grade have been going to Project Studio to learn how to be better group members when working collaboratively and also learning about what it means to be an "explorer." Students were asked to identify their strengths within a group, and given strategies to make group work easier. In Social Studies, students have been learning deeply about the Spanish and English explorers that colonized California, but in Project Studio, they began to see that there are many modern-day explorers to learn about as well! In addition to Project Studio, the fourth graders have been busy proving the Big Idea, "Exploration is driven by the quest for power." Their essays and illustrations demonstrate deep learning and great strides in their research and writing abilities! Kol Hakavod!!!! We are SO close to reaching our class goal of 100% participation. We are hoping that every student will bring $2 to help fund programs to bring a love of reading to students in Guatemala. Thank you! This week in Ms. Spielberg's class we are discussing sequence, the order in which things happen in a story. Today students made a detailed sequence of the main events in Chapter 6 of The Lemonade Wars. Upcoming DatesTuesday, December 16th - First Night of Hanukkah!
