This week students were introduced to many skills that are helping them be creative thinkers! We discussed what it means to be creative and how a person can become creative. Students learned special words that will help them think creatively. These words are: maximize, minimize, rearrange, substitute, and combine. Ask your child about the words that they learned! Students were given a picture of a shape and it was their job to think of a creative way to use the shape and turn it into something different. It was amazing how different each student's picture was! Students practiced writing the letters B and R. They also started working with the letter A. In math students were introduced to new math vocabulary of learning about one more, one less, and the same number. They practiced this skill with using number cards, counters, and playing games. They practiced the skill of using one-to-one correspondence by making sure each picture had its matching card or that each picture made a complete set. Lastly, students were ordering objects by size and learned the vocabulary of biggest, middle-sized, and smallest. Mrs. Katan's Hebrew students have been learning the names of the different body parts. Ms. Stone’s Hebrew students are becoming experts in conjugating adjectives in Hebrew using nouns that begin with the letter Bet. Upcoming Events10/26: Morning Assembly on the yard at 8:00
