This week we celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday with our 6th grade buddies! Students read books together and made a special hat from the story, Cat in the Hat. Students in room 5 continued to research information on big cats (tigers, lions, and cheetahs). Ask your child what new information they learned about big cats! Students also learned that cheetah's are the fastest land mammal, we were able to see who was the fastest mammal in our class! Students in room 6 started studying all about marsupials! This week students also continued with their writing and handwriting of lowercase letters. In math students learned about solid (3d shapes) and flat shapes! They were excited to find many solid shapes all around us in real life objects such as at school and at home. They also found out which shapes can slide, stack, or roll.
