This week we celebrated Purim! Our fifth graders enjoyed dressing up and the festivities including the reading of the Megillah, learning a flash mob dance, and exchanging mishloach manot baskets! Upcoming Dates:
STEAM Night- Wednesday, April 6th Upcoming Dates: Purim Carnival- This SUNDAY! Dress up for Purim- Thursday, March 24th March Birthdays- Friday, March 25th STEAM Night- Wednesday, April 6th In honor of Founder's Day, the fifth grade students wrote what Wise School means to them. Enjoy! Natalia- I am thankful for being able to come to wise school for many reasons. First of all, I love all of the caring teachers who are so understanding. They always know how we feel. One amazing teacher I had was Mrs. Rahm. I had her for second grade and she changed my life. I learned so much that year. Not only was she an amazing teacher, she also taught in a funny entertaining way. Everyone in that class that year had to sing a song called Together We Can Change The World. We had to write a reflection on the song but all of us would write chang instead of change. She told us we forgot the e but that did not help. Then, she was reading aloud one of the reflections and yelled CHANG. We all laughed. Then we all yelled CHANG in the middle of the song. Everyone laughed and then we always wrote change. Another amazing teacher I had was Mrs. Goldberg. She is the most understanding teacher I ever had. She has a rule in math saying if you work twenty minutes on your homework you can stop. This proves she understands homework can be very overwhelming. She also makes learning fun. Often she shows us songs and videos. One video she showed us was about dividing decimals. The video was so funny and the lyrics were so catchy, everyone got good grades on the test by remembering keep, change flip, thats the action. Now everybody’s going to know how we're dividing fractions. That song along with others made math with Mrs. Goldberg so much fun. Because on Mrs. Goldberg, math is so fun. Mrs. Goldberg is also my reading teacher. I love being in her class because we always read great books unlike many years ago when the books made me want to sleep because they were so boring. Some of the great books we read were: Maniac Magee, Bud, not Buddy, and A Long Walk To Water. I enjoyed each and every one of them and hope the book we are reading (Tuck Everlasting) is just as good as the rest of the books we read. I would name all of the teachers I love, but, that would probably be every teacher in the school. I love wise soooo much. Teachers, if you are reading this I would just like to tell you that you are doing an amazing job. The only way you can improve in by staying the same for even longer. Thank you all teachers. You make my life a wonderful place.

Another reason I am thankful for Wise is because we try to help others who don’t have what we have to survive. We like to donate tzedaka to them to help with essentials for example water and food. I am thankful for all the teachers at Wise because they try their hardest to make us smarter and use depth and complexity to deepen our understanding of learning. I am thankful for the temple that helps us to embrace our religion and helping us understand Torah. Thank You Wise We Love Your Work Jacob Melamed- I am thankful to be here at Wise because of the sports program. The sports program helps me get better at sports and understand how to play as a team. I am also thankful to be here at Wise because of the academics. The academics help me in I.S S.S and Reading because I get better at all of those subjects everyday here at school. Mrs. Burch has helped me throughout the year and has helped me understand thing that I don't get in any subject I have with her. This school has made me a better person with my friends, teachers, and family. Thank you wise for everything you have done for me and my family. Wise school has changed me not only as an individual but as a part of an everyday community of Rabbis, children, family, and the administration and for our wonderful principle and Mrs. Wiser and my wonderful 5th grade teachers Mrs. Burch, Mrs. Goldberg, and Mrs. Itri. Some of the books my class and I have read over the year are: Maniac Magee, Tale of Despereaux, and our first class book was No talking. All of those books taught me to never give up and to always follow your dreams. Thank you Wise for the wonderful community that surrounds me and cares for me. Thank you Wise for all you have done for me, my friends, siblings, and of course for my family. Created By Jacob Leon Melamed THANK YOU WISE James Bamshad- I am thankful to be here at wise because of technology. We learn how to code and use websites to control robots! Another thing I am thankful for is the Sports Program. The coaches teach me how to play many sports like basketball, soccer, and football. We play games against many schools. I am also thankful for the great teachers. I never go home without something new to share with my family. They explain anything I do not understand and teach me new things about history, grammar, and words. Wise school has made me countless memories. One is when we all learned how to play basketball in kindergarten. We all traveled and we airballed shot, but it was still fun. Another memory is when our class brought $75 for tzedakah and 15 cans of food for sova. The last 10 years at Wise School have been the most important years of my life. Mason Cohen: I am so thankful to be at wise because it has taught me to learn a new language, Hebrew. It has taught me that I sometimes don’t understand things but I have to deal with it. That will not stop me from learning. Another thing Wise has taught me is that not everybody will always respectful to me. WIse has taught me how to deal with that. I have learned from my mistakes. I am not always going to be the best at something that I want to be. There are some very athletic people in 5th grade. I have learned to respect that and congratulate to them for making the blue team. I will not always be the best at something that I love. I shall respect everyone who appreciates me and that is kind to me. I am thankful for the discipline that will carry me for my life. I respect when people might not respect. I respect how people teach me at the most respectful way possible. I have had memories for a lifetime in 7 - 8 years. I will cherish these years forever. - Mason Ryder Cohen Pierce Gabayzadeh I am thankful for the wonderful teachers in the school. I am thankful that after all there hard work in school they stay for several hours. In class they are the ones who motivate us, care for us, and help us make great happen. My wonderful teacher Mrs.Burch help me when I am stuck. If I raise my hand she will be there in a snap and help me. Another teacher is Mrs.Goldberg. In reading she really helps us understand the book by going into every single detail to help us. Also I am thankful that even if we are the most disruptive class they will either put up with us or they will help us stay on task. I think this takes a lot of effort because effort because even at the end of the day they have to stay to grade tests and quizzes. Matan Bendor I am thankful to be at Wise School because I am able to have friends. I am lucky because I knew my friends since N1 to now, so now I can have 1 year and almost a half to be with them until we are all in middle school and high school. I am also thankful to be at wise because I get a great education here and great teachers to teach me everything I need to know when I grow up. To be able to use that education Later in my life, and I also need to use that education right now, so I can become a better student. THANK YOU Aly Kaplan: I am thankful for the sports we have at this school because we have the ability to get all our energy out. Also we can be grateful that we can play sports at our school and play against other teams. One other reason I am thankful for at this school is the teachers they can help us in any possible way that they can. For example when we don’t get something the teachers are always right there trying to help us. To me the teachers are like a bunch of superman's there to help any of the students. My final and last reason I love going to Wise School is how I love all the activities we do as a class. One activity that I thought was really good was The Thirst Project. For this event our school partnered up with Burckley Hall and are job was to raise money to build a well in Africa. We had a Thirst Olympics that the whole school participated in. We had people who were caring jerry cans, races between people, and a swimming race. I thought that this was a good way to have fun and to “Make great happen”. I think that every and any activity we do at Wise School we always do a good job. Every new activity we do here make me be a better person not just to myself but also to other people. In Conclusion, I think that this and anything else Wise School does will make all the kids at our school be the best they can for a lifetime. Thank you Wise School keep making great happen! Sabrina Gancman: I am thankful for Wise school for all the activities they create for the students. This year I signed up to do the play. I greatly admire the wonderful directors Mrs. Itri, Mrs. Frankel, and Mrs. Shpall and the Musical director Mrs. Jesser for taking the time out of there afternoon every Monday, Thursday, and Sundays to produce a show with all their heart and sole. Mostly I am glad that Wise has so many loving people and teachers in the school to help guide the way for me throughout my school years and forever on. Thanks for making this place so special for me, Sabrina Gancman Tiana Yazdi: I am thankful for the amazing athletics program here at Wiseschool because I am a big fan of many sports and I play them. Here I am able to and I have coaches who teach me how to become better. Some Coaches are Coach Danny Harold, Coach Brandon Lion, and coach Ryan Hosler. Something else I am thankful for are the spectacula teachers at Wiseschool. I have been here ever since I took my first steps and now tell 5th grade. The teachers have taught me how to read, write, addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and division, Jewish values,Hebrew, and many more. My final reason is that I am thankful for wise is the musical. I always love singing songs but I never have a place to sing. The Wiseschool musical is a great place for me to sing and act. I also learn many things about acting and singing like cheating out and projecting to the audience. in Wise Schools like a second home to me everybody is welcoming and even if I have 103 temperature I still will want to come to school. Thank you WiseSchool for all that you have done for me and I am so thankful. Ethan Pakravan: I am thankful that I have my wonderful friends to keep me up when I am up and bring me up when I am down. I don’t know if I would survive without them because we also do things outside school, and when one of us is down someone brings him up and we stand up for each other and always take each other sides no matter what. I can’t believe after next year we might not end up together in the same middle school but most likely will. In conclusion I guess what I am trying to say is I need my friends and wherever we are we will always be together. Riley Golshan: I am thankful for the wonderful wise school because it has been here for me from day 1. It has taught how to respect us the jews and our classmates. I have grown up here and it has been wonderful seeing how wise school has grown from the first day I came here to this very day. I am thankful for the wonderful teacher at wise school who has helped me grow as a person. Every teacher I had from N1 to 5th and soon 6th grade has taught me more and more about my community, my friends, and myself. They have also taught me more about the Jews history and how if Moses did not free us from Egypt we would not be her today. But Wise school has not only taught me about the Jews history, wise school has taught me about every religion's history. They have taught everything I know today and will teach much more for the next year and a half. This school has taught me how to become a respectful, kind, caring, and smart student. I would not be the person I am today without the Wise school community. I am so happy that I can call wise school my second home and it will always be that till the day I die. The 11 years I have been a member at wise school has been amazing. This school has treated me with respect and has made me the person who I am proud of and I would never want to change myself. I can’t believe that next year will be my last year here as a student. This is where I have grown up and this place has been the place were I found who I am really am. Thank you to the wise community for making me the person who I would never want to change. Daryn Shabbouei: I am thankful to be at Wise School because I got to learn deeply with my teachers and we learn what is important to know and what manners are. I am also thankful at Wise because this is where I got to meet all of my friends and without friends I wouldn’t be able to do many things because friends teach me many things and help me learn when I am stuck on a problem.I am also thankful for friends because I get to play many games with them like basketball, soccer, football, and be on a debate team with them .I am also thankful for my teachers. They taught me so many things in math, reading, IS, etc...The teachers here are very kind,smart,funny,positive,etc... I have been here my whole life so I have had so many great teachers and soon to have a great teacher in 6th grade.Thank you for all the teachers that are wonderful for teaching all of us. That is a few things I am thankful for in Wise school. Thank You WIse School Teddy Gillman: I am thankful to be at at Wise School because of many things. First, I can freely express my ideas about Judaism. There is really no restrictive measure, so opinions are embraced in discussion. The values taught are another thing I am thankful for. They can be implemented forever in my life, no matter what path I take. Another reason is It has great arts programs. From a new music and art room and a technology lab, we have it all. These give us a more balanced education with more choices in our future live, though we will never stray away from are jewish roots. These places also help us more deeply understand the culture we are blessed with. But it is everyone as well as everything that makes this experience as it is. From administration like Mrs.Wiser and Mrs.Climon to the teachers like Mystro and Mrs. Burch and the extra curricular activities like Brett And Bonni, people make this place what it is. My final reason is the what this place does for us. This is not just a school, not just a temple, it’s a community. A community that comes together and makes great happen. And nothing can change the connection felt with all other jews. Thank You Wise School for the gifts you have given me. Noah Cohen: I am thankful to be here at wise for many things. For example I play an instrument, the violin and I got accepted in Rock Band & Orchestra and I learn new songs that are fun and because we have nice teachers and respectful teachers. My teacher for Rock Band are Brett and Bonnie and for Orchestra Mrs. Weinstein and Mui-yee. We get a recital after that we learned songs, we have a limited time to learn then we recite, for example this year I am having another recital May 6 in front of the whole school on stage. I also have a solo recital like from my book or songs I choose and sometimes I get nervous because I am by myself on stage with my teacher playing the piano and following along.I am thankful for my education at Wise because some people don’t even have the opportunities to to go to school and learn; explore new things about life, math, reading, etc… but we do and I am thankful for nice teachers and caring because some teachers could be not nice and bully you like in some other countries I know like Korea, France , and others. Math is also really important for our life education because that is mostly what we use in life to count, add, multiply, divide and other methods like Singapore methods. Reading is also really important because in every single language there is reading like Hebrew, English, French, and others and you could use literature for reading books and stories in life. And our teachers if would not have teachers we would not have a career in our lives and we wouldn't have a great future without great teachers. Thank you Noah Cohen Lindsay Shepard: I am thankful to be at Wise School Temple Elementary because of the big journey I have started and the journey I have to finish next year. First of all, I would like to thank my teachers who have helped me so much throughout the years and for helping me choose the right decisions and putting me in a place where I am so comfortable i my learning. I would also like to thank all of my friends for being there for me and for sticking up for me whenever I needed help. And last but not least, I would like to thank Stephen S. Wise and all of the other founders of our school because if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be here in this amazing school. Both of my parents did not practice Judaism when they were growing up, and now, I have found myself believing in something so important in my life. I am proud to be a jew and I am proud to celebrate it here at Wise School! Thank You So Much!!!!!!!xoxo - Lindsay Shepard Elliot Lichtman - I am thankful to be at Wse School because here, I get to chase what matters to me. Whether it is signing up for debate, or making a connection in social studies, I am always encouraged to personalize things and make it more meaningful for me. Because of this, I feel at home when I am at Wise School. Also, I am thankful for my teachers. They know exactly when we need breaks, and when to break things down and make connections. They add innovative projects into the standards and make sure that everyone understands before moving on. Every year, out teachers set goals for us, and push us to achieve them. We do make great happen and we do experience wholeness and we do learn deeply and we are creative, thanks to our teachers and administration. Gabrielle Soleimani I, Gabrielle Soleimani, have been going to Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary School, and Wise School My whole entire lifetime. Mommy and Me, transition, N2, N3, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, fourth grade, and all the way to this day in fifth grade. You might be wondering why I didn’t say N1. That is because I am a summer birthday and had the choice of grade I wanted to go to, N1 or N2. My parents chose to put me in fifth grade because of my academic level. So I could be in 4th grade right now. I am truly dedicated to my school and my temple and 100% show all my love and respect for all the founders of Stephen S. Wise Temple, and Wise School. I show this love by being a member of Stephen S. Wise Temple and attending services here. I attend services every week on Thursday for Shacharit and I attend the Rosh Hashanah, and Yom Kippur Services. I plan to continue to be a part of this congregation and send my children to Wise School and I hope that they make the decision of sending my Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren, and on and on. In conclusion, I think that Founders’ Day is one of the most important days of the year and I am proud to be a part of the Stephen S. Wise Congregation. Jacob Shak Founders Day is very important to me because this is my home, and I loved learning about what this school and temple looked liked and how it started. This temple that my parents found for me is just incredible because I get to wake up every morning and see the beautiful school that my parents provide for me. Tiffany Tavakoli This Founders day, I have learned a lot of things about Wise School and about how they created this school. Rabbi Stephen S. Wise and Mrs. Metuka Benjamin had a vision of a beautiful school where kids can come and learn deeply. I want to thank them because without them, I wouldn’t come to the best school, learn amazing things, and have caring friends. Just think about it, if we didn’t have Stephen S. Wise, it’s almost like you don't have a life because this school gave you a chance to meet people and pray in the temple as a whole community of Jewish people. I hope that all the children if all the students of Wise School with continue to come here, generation to generation. Shabbat Shalom! Sivan Bendor I think that the man Rabbi Stephen S. Wise was a great man to honor. He is the reason I can learn and have an education. The founders thought really hard on the people that are going to come after them, and thought about the education the students needed for their earlier life. The founders also wanted the school to be fun and the students to enjoy the school. Benjamin Goldenstein I love this school. It’s an amazing school where everyone can learn what they want. I am always learning something new whether it is something Mrs. Weiser says when she is greeting me in the morning to when Mrs. Itri or Mrs. Goldberg teach me about something in math or grammar. I am so thankful to the founders’ of this school and I am excited to have my Bar Mitzvah here. I give thanks to the many rabbis and cantors who have helped my family and thank the ones that will. There is always room for you to learn new things here. Without this school I would not be who I am today! Gavin Gabbay Founders day enlightened me on the founders of this school. I learned about my school's heritage and beginning. I learned that Rabbi Isaiah Zeldin along with 35 other families founded this school and that they unanimously named it Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary school. Carolina Benun When I first entered Stephen S. Wise, I was eager to fit in, and learn all the incredible things about Wise school. As I did, I began to understand why so many people like Wise school. All the events and services filled with lots of joy and laughter. The friendship between students and teachers. I Have a lot of fun in Wise school and I hope you do to. Those are my thoughts when students went on stage to present their thoughts’ on Wise school. Eli Emmanuel What an amazing performance by the six grade students. I am inspired by the hard work by the families and generations of this school. This reminds me everyday of the jewish learning of this school. Rabbi Stephen S. Wise is a great man who founded this school and his name permanently on this school for generations to come. Metuka Benjamin, Rabbi Zeldin, Eli Herscher, and many more families have played a big part in this school and I am proud of it. Stephen S. Wise died years ago and his memory is still here forever. All the changes in this school have made it a safer place for people and a better learning space for all. When I am older I will remember this school in my heart and soul. When I die I will say the shema to remember my friends, Family, and especially the founders and G-d, The soul of our universe. Nathan Namvar Wise School means Judaism. Wise School means to learn something new everyday. When I go to school in the morning I can’t wait to play soccer at recess, or go art to make a new project everyday. You can also go to after school clinic every Friday for 4th-6th Grade, which is great if you need to improve. Tyler Moshfegh I think that Rabbi Stephen Samuel Wise founded this temple to make a place where Jewish people can come if needed. 50 years later here we are with a school, and still a temple. The educators here help all of us learn new things. All students here strive to help and learn as best as they can, Including teachers. I always hear from teachers that they don't just teach the students they learn from us, students. This is what founders day means to me. Nick Nehorayan I feel that the founders of this school had a vision to start small and to get bigger slowly and one day be a massive Jewish day school. Without this school I don’t know where I would be right now because i’ve been here for all of my life. I thank the founders for having the vision and we are still growing to this very day and getting new classrooms and redoing parts of the school. Improving never stops here and that’s what I love about Wise School. I feel that I am a part of the growing if the school and watching it get bigger as I also get bigger. Leila Kashfian Founders day is very important to me because I have been coming to Wise School/Stephen S. Wise Temple since Mommy and Me. I have watched the school grow and change many times. At first there was no innovation lab, and now there is! The basketball court used to be black and now it's blue! I hope to watch more changes coming to our school to make it a better place to learn. Soon there will be a new gym! I would like to thank Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, Rabbi Isaiah Zeldin, and Mrs. Metuka Benjamin for making me a place to have fun with my friends and a place to learn. Raisa Effress When I came to Wise School last year, I hardly knew anything about it. I was there for the first Founders’ Day, and by the time I walked out of the building, I had learned so much about the school and temple, their history, and about all of the wonderful people who made what was once a mere idea into the community for education and prayer that we are all so privileged to be a part of today. This year, I walked into the same building on Founders’ Day, but with new friends and new ideas of my own. Hearing about the inspiring history of this community and its founders, and seeing them gathered together before us, brought a beautiful message to everyone present in that moment: when great ideas are brought to life, we can help the world be a better place. Jaden Akhtarzad Every day I get out of my car I look at all the nature that surrounds us. I look at the beautiful mountains right behind us that makes a smile on my face. We are so fortunate that we have the kindness and caring community. Once It is 7:55 we get in the classroom and get the best education that the school provides for us. The rabbis have done such a big part in making this school. I always wonder how the rabias found one of the most lovely mountains? This school has taught me so much about leadership. On Thursday we are so privileged to have mindfulness to help us through school. Are school involves in a lot of organization projects to raise money. For example we get to help kids and adult in Swaziland by raising money like having bake sales and doing projects. I can't wait to come to school every day in realize something fro amazing. Nataly Azizi Wise School has taught me how to Be a proud Jew Teaching loving-kindness And a lot of fun filled surprises Having great teachers is so fun I even got to see the Air Force One Thank You teachers for all you have done You are so nice with everyone Teaching Social Studies To everybody Thank you teachers and administration For teaching me about immigration Amazing sports and academics I love doing things that are so athletic All the teachers and staff are like family Love, Nataly By:Cayla Cohen Started by doing what's necessary, then what's possible then you're suddenly doing the impossible. By: Saint Francis Of Assisi Teachers help me to learn. Encourages me to be creative. People at wise help me to improve. Hope for peace. Entire community just like me. Never give up. With love in my heart. I will always have friends at Stephen Wise. Super fun, nice, and helpful are three words that describe Stephen Wise. End with love. Spencer Davis: An education means everything to me; Wise is my home away from home. We learn deeply, pray mindfully, and have a lot of fun. We learn all sorts of subjects from writing to art, hebrew to math. My family has been here for over 13 years and we’ve loved it ever since. In my time at Wise, I have changed, seen so much change, and experienced the process of good learning, with others helping me through it. There has never been a bad teacher or a subject I have not gotten help with. Wise isn’t only a school, it’s a caring family, that never lets a sibling down. We have a loving community and welcoming friends. We care, share, love, and sometimes don’t do the right thing. But we learn and improve from that. I love Wise and will continue to as I grow. -Spencer Davis שלום Judah Friedman יהודה פרידמן The Start of Something Great The day I moved to California and saw this school, I knew I would love California. Back when I used to live in Connecticut, I never had the education that I had here. In Connecticut, I went to a non Jewish public school that didn’t teach everything that was necessary to be taught in the grade I was in. I did go to a Jewish school once a week, but they barely taught any hebrew. My education got worse in 2nd grade where my teacher taught things that I already new. One day though, when I came home from school, my parents told me the news about the move. I was sad at first, but then realized this could be a new beginning for my education. Once I was in California, I went to a school that seemed good at first, but I regretted going there in the end. I was getting bullied and they were teaching things I did not understand. I had to drop out early and start being homeschooled by my mom. I then, after homeschooling was done, had to think of a new school to go to. I then thought of when I tried out Wise School and thought this could be the school that I was going to go to next year. I waited all summer to see how school would turn out at Wise School. Once I was at “Back to Wise” I knew I would love it here. I was welcomed by a ton of students that were going to be in my class for third grade. I then met my teachers who I had something in common with one of them, it was both of our first years at Wise School. This teacher was Ms. Bresnick and she was the new assistant teacher in third grade. My other teacher was Mrs. Biller, another teacher who also seemed really nice. I had classes that taught me everything, and they even split the more advanced kids up from the less advanced kids. I had an amazing year with super nice teachers and super nice friends until, it was the last day of school. I was going to miss my teachers, but than I thought of how nice my teachers will be next year until, it happened. The message I am trying to make here is that I am thankful for the founders of this school for making this amazing school possible for me to join. There are great teachers, I have amazing friends, and a good education. The teachers come up with fun activities for us to do and fun projects that we can do. I could never ask for a better school in my life and if this was a middle school, high school, and college, I would join immediately. WISE SCHOOL WILL LIVE FOREVER! Zack Gardenhour Being a part of Stephen S. Wise plays a major role in my life. From Hebrew and Judaic studies, to science, art, and technology! What I love about this school are the fun activities that we do in specialist classes (Science, technology, etc.). When I first started in first grade after leaving here to go to kindergarten in another school, I was really nervous that I would start with a strict teacher and mean classmates. I was off by a longshot. Wise school has many nice teachers and classmates to get to know and meet easily. But first grade was only the beginning. Second grade was a very strong departure from what I was use to in first grade but it still is one of the best years I had here. I met new teachers, new students, returning students, and much more! It’s almost like second grade was like a sequel to first grade! It just keeps getting better! Third grade introduced me to typing which is something I still use to this day! Fourth grade let everybody use laptops to do things like code.org, scratch, and other things. Finally, fifth grade. Fifth grade is the year when I got to bring my own laptop to type whenever I need to. If this school was a painting, it would be a masterpiece! Aidan Hashem Stephen S. Wise is amazing because everyone in this school is so nice and kind to me I remember when I came to Wise and Mason Cohen was so kind to me and he introduced me to him. I’m grateful for my education here because I can learn new languages and become a better reader and even read about all the Heros of Judaism. This school taught me to use your smile to change this world don’t let this world change your smile. Ilai Khalili Being at Stephen S. Wise or Wise School is great. I get to learn to be a good jew, while also learning other subjects like reading, math, and technology. I have learned so many things these past years here. I’ve learned hebrew and how to be a good jew. I’ve learned math and reading. I’ve also learned subjects like science and art. This school is great. I can’t believe how much this school has changed over the years, for example, the innovation lab, or the music and project studio room. The biggest people I want to thank are Rabbi Zeldin, Metuka Benjamin and all the other 35 families who helped to create this great school. I’d also like to thank all my teachers for helping me with things I’ve needed help for, and teaching me to be a good student. Also, thank you to all my coaches for helping me become a better athlete. Most of all, thank you to the administration for making good choices for the school and being there for us. Gabriella Melamed גבריאלה I am grateful for... I am grateful for Wise School, I am grateful for the founders of Stephen S Wise, I am grateful for all my amazing 5th grade teachers, Mrs.Goldberg, Mrs.Burch, and Mrs.Itri, I am grateful for all the Hebrew and Judaic teachers in Wise School, I am grateful for all the teachers in Wise School, I am grateful for all the administrators at our school, I am grateful for all the fun subjects in school, I am grateful for coming to school and seeing all the beautiful nature that God created, I am grateful for going to a Jewish school and learning about Judaism and the state of Israel, I am grateful for my parents and carpool for taking me to school everyday, I am grateful for all of my friends at the school, I am grateful for the school nurse for helping students when they are hurt, I am grateful for the P.E coaches for teaching me Physical Education, I am grateful for all the people who make me happy at Wise School, I am grateful for Wise School. Levi Schmuel Wise School is a wonderful place, I have at been at this school for a long time, long enough that I know that this school is about changing the world for the better. If I had to list all the charities and and people that Wise School has helped, it would take me hours. From the Technology, where we fiddle with gadgets and tools, to Music where we sing with a rich harmony of voices, Wise School helps me grow. Stephen S. Wise foreshadowed, he put the school on a mountain. He predicted that this school would soar above the others because of the acceptance and kindness you feel when you take your first step on the campus. Wise School is an amazing learning place for S.T.E.A.M. Science, technology, art, and math. A great school for sports, especially the swim team. I am thankful for the teachers at Wise School that are constantly working to make this school a better learning experience for all of us. As Albert Einstein once said “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.” I hope for the kids tomorrow that Wise School is standing strong and tall, like an immovable statue on a high pedestal. Thank you Stephen S. Wise. God bless you, God bless this school, God bless Stephen S. Wise, God bless America. Shaya Schwarz I’m am grateful for having this great education, that also includes hebrew. Not many people have a good Hebrew and English education. My teachers teach me new things and when I need help they help me. My teachers inspire to do great in the world. I am also thankful for my great friends that support me. Benji Stein I am grateful for going to this school because of many reasons. The main reasons I am grateful to go to this school is because of the amazing teachers. They taught me almost everything I know from when I was born, to now. I never went to a different school and even though my dad and mom pay a lot for me to go to this school, it was very worth it. If I went to a different school, I wouldn’t be on this level I am on right now. Also, I have the best friends that I could ever have! They are always there when I need them, and They never let me down. And if I didn’t go to this school, I wouldn’t know squat about hebrew. When I was young, I thought that I would never know how to speak hebrew fluently but, now I can! Thank you so much Wise School for supporting my life. Courtney Weisel What Wise School Means To Me: To me Wise School is like a second home for me. Wise school is a kind, happy, and loving school. At Wise we learn the true meaning of Judaism. Here at Wise they make subjects fun for everyone. Also during sports everyone becomes closer by working together as a team. Also in academics the teachers never give up on you. At Wise there is a subject for everyone to enjoy. I couldn’t imagine a better school then here at Wise. I’m so thankful for the founders of Wise School. Juliet Goltche To me Wise School is a place where you can learn academics, Judaism, and creativity. To me that is important because other Jewish kids have to go to school then Hebrew school, and we we don't. Wise School is not only academics, Judaism, and creativity it is a community of love and happiness and that's what I love about Wise School. Thank you for your sports teams, administration, and many more things. Wise School has helped me so much. Every time I enter the hallway in the morning, I have a smile on my face! Ethan Aron Wise School means to me that I am engaged in Hebrew. It also means to me that I am becoming a Jew. This school is a great school because whenever there is a new kid our school is so embracing. I'm grateful for my wonderful teacher Mrs. Goldberg. I'm grateful because she has been with me this whole year and she taught me so much like teaching me social studies and Word Wisdom. I want to thank Mrs. Weiser because she has improved my school so much, and has made great happen at Wise. I'm grateful for Coach Hostler because he has done so much for Wise School's sports. Here is a list of every special and superb teacher I would like to thank: Mrs. Goldberg, Mrs. Itri, Mrs, Bahat because she always told me to keep on trying, and last but not least Mrs. Burch because she has taught me a lot in Reading. I'm grateful for all the parents who helped with all the amazing things like the Purim Carnival. Wise School is a great school to learn Hebrew and become engaged in torah with Mrs. Orevi because Wise School teaches us all about Judaism. I hope Wise School continues this way. In Mrs. Burch’s class, the students are wrapping up The Tale of Despereaux and continuing the novel Maniac Magee. The students are practicing the skills of questioning and making connections, while exploring how the two main characters’ journeys parallel. In Mrs. Goldberg’s class the students are reading the books A Long Walk to Water and Tuck Everlasting with a focus on verifying predictions with the use of citing evidence from the text to act as support for their predictions.
In Hebrew and Judaic Studies the student had Crazy Hat Day to welcome in Adar II with happiness and joy. Please make sure to join us for our annual Purim Carnival next Sunday the 20th! Upcoming Dates:
