Shana Tova! Wishing everyone a happy and sweet new year. The fifth grade celebrated the new year in their Judaica classes by eating apples and honey! Also, take a look at a video in which the students explain how to celebrate Rosh Hashana in Hebrew. It was edited by Lauren from Mrs. Fridman's Hebrew class! It was a pleasure meeting you all at Back to School Night! In an effort to foster independence, please check your child's homework planner nightly for information about upcoming quizzes, tests, and projects. This week in Math, the classes are wrapping up their first unit on algebraic concepts, including solving equations, using formulas, and using the Distributive Property. See some of the students' representations of the property below! In Social Studies, the students have begun their unit on American Indians and their environment, building upon and extending their previous unit on geography. Room 40 introduced the unit in an inquiry-based lesson. In Judaic Studies, the students are discussing the power of tefilla and its relation to this year's big idea of conflict. It is a timely correlation to the upcoming holidays of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur! News and Announcements:
