Week of October 20, 2014 This week the students were very excited to learn about the first Native Americans that came to LA along with exploring real artifacts lent to us by that Autry National Center! Hebrew/Judaica In Mrs. Fridman's the students had fun acting out the story "Who goes to school". Week of October 13, 2014 This week we continued to celebrate Sukkot while making decorations for the Sukkah and going to sing there as well. The students did an amazing job with their model sukkahs. They were all so creative! In Mrs. Fridman's class the students practiced saying what they do in their Sukkah. `They also learned how the 4 species (ארבעה מינים) of Sukkot resemble different parts of the body. What a great song! In Judaic Studies the students worked together to make some beautiful decorations for the Sukkah. The students have been putting a lot of effort into the Los Angeles maps that they are making in Project Studio, and they are turning out great! In Social Studies, the students learned about the cardinal and intermediary directions on a compass rose. In Math, we have been focusing on the different properties of addition.
