It's been another great week at Wise School. The students are preparing for Midor L'dor by practicing their songs. This week, the students learned a Thanksgiving poem that you will all get to hear next week. During morning services on Friday, six third graders gave wonderful speeches about how they connect to God. We are so proud of the students who were Klei Kodesh in addition to their classmates, who listened very respectfully. In Mrs. Spielberg's reading class, students celebrated the end of James and the Giant Peach by bringing in snacks that resembled items in the story. They even got to watch the movie! Lastly, the 3rd graders are working on designing a quilt in art that will be auctioned off at the school gala. After completing their contribution to the quilt, the students were very excited to look at the finished product of their last art project. Have a wonderful weekend. Shabbat Shalom. Important dates: Wednesday, November 25th: Midor L’Dor and minimum day (12pm dismissal) November 26th and 27th: No School (Thanksgiving)

It’s been another wonderful week for 3rd grade and Wise School. We would like to thank all of the families that attended last week’s 3rd Grade Shabbat. The students and staff had a blast! Below is a video of some Israeli dancing that we enjoyed after dinner. This week, the 3rd graders were finally paired with their 1st grade buddies and they couldn’t have been more excited. After meeting their buddies, the 3rd graders joined the 1st graders in their classrooms where they shared some things they have been working on. After that, we went to the synagogue to learn and practice the song that the students will be singing for Midor L’Dor. Below are pictures and video of the 3rd graders and their buddies along with Maestro Kates, who was teaching the students their song. In Mrs. Fridman's Hebrew class, Madelyn Schwartz enjoyed being the teacher of the day. Below is a video of her leading a game. In honor of Shabbat , Ori and Emily created and lead a game with all the vocabulary words the class learned. On Wednesday, we had a special assembly outside for Veterans Day. We sang the National Anthem and America The Beautiful. Rabbi Josh dressed in his military uniform and talked to the students about Veteran’s Day. Last but not least, we had students who were Klei Kodesh at today's Shabbat services. Below are pictures of them giving their speeches about where they see God in our world. We look forward to another exciting week next week. Shabbat Shalom! Important dates: Monday, November 16th: Pupil Free Day Wednesday, November 25th: Midor L’Dor and minimum day (12pm dismissal) November 26th and 27th: No School (Thanksgiving) Happy Friday! The third graders are chugging along in math and reading. In Project Studio, the students really enjoyed working in groups on an inquiry activity. The students worked to identify a variety of Native American artifacts and what they were used for. In addition, this week we had the ribbon cutting ceremony for our brand new Tyberg Arts and Innovation Lab. Lastly, the kids enjoyed doing some Israeli dancing with Ms. Orevi. Below are pictures and video from Israeli dancing and the Tyberg Arts and Innovation Lab Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Have a wonderful weekend. Shabbat Shalom! |
