Pre K: This week we continued to learn about our bodies. The students studied the skeleton and organ models in our class, and talked about why the different parts of plant and animal structures are important. Kindergarten: This week we learned about the Earth and the Moon. We used models to represent how the Moon moves around the Earth, how the Earth rotates on its axis, and the different phases of the moon. 1st Grade: This week we learned more about the Sun, Earth, and Moon. We learned how the long it takes for the Moon to go through one cycle a month) and Earth to go one cycle around the Sun (one year) using models. 2nd Grade: This week we experimented with engineering. The students used various types of materials to build different models with both moving and no-moving parts. 3rd Grade: This week due to conferences, we did not get to see 3rd grade! We look forward to picking back up next week! 4th Grade: This week we learned all about maps. The students learned about the different types of maps used to represent different information, and began to think about how to create a map of their own homes. 5th: This week we learned all about Galileo. The students watched a film about his life and his discoveries, wrote summaries to reflect what they learned. 6th Grade: This week we learned about weather.
