PreK: This week, we learned all about the 5 senses, and what type of information we get by using each sense. Kindergarten: This week, we learned about solar energy and observed how it works by making solar bead bracelets! 1st Grade: This week we learned more about plants by asking more questions about how plants grow, and watched a Magic School Bus video all about plants. 2nd Grade: This week we did have 2nd grade due to a half day, but look forward to seeing them again after break! 3rd Grade: This week learned about decomposers and studied some worms from our worm bin up close. We made observations and asked a lot of questions. 4th Grade: This week we continued to work on our prosthetic arms! Our designs are coming together, and we are excited to start testing our creations. 5th Grade: This week we continued to work in groups on our Ecosystem Model project. We are in the final stages of our 3D model building, and look forward to finishing after break. 6th Grade: This week we participated in a Socratic Seminar around the question "Should scientists bring back animals from extinction?" We also read different Science World articles and talked about different hot topics in the science realm right now.

PreK: This week, we learned all about the 5 senses, and what type of information we get by using each sense. We also spent some time with Bernardo, our bearded dragon, and compared how we use our senses similarly and differently than him. Kindergarten: This week, we learned about solar energy and observed how it works by making solar bead bracelets! 1st Grade: This week we learned about worms, and how they help enrich the soil in our environment. We observed some worms up close, and made observations about how they live. 2nd Grade: This week we learned about worms, and how they help enrich the soil in our environment. We observed some worms up close, and made observations about how they live. 3rd Grade: This week learned about Darwin and his idea of evolution by playing a "Survival of the Fittest Game!" We had a lot of fun trying to survive! 4th Grade: This week we continued to work on our prosthetic arms! Our designs are coming together, and we are excited to start testing our creations. 5th Grade: This week we continued to work in groups on our Ecosystem Model project. We finished up our energy pyramids, and began putting together our 3D model. 6th Grade: This week, we continued our unit on genetics by creating a 3rd generation of our Wisebots with the use of Punnet Squares. Kindergarten: This week, we continued to learn about different types of weather, and how changes in air temperature affects different weather conditions. 1st Grade: This week we went to the garden with Mrs. Kabat and planted bulbs in our beds! 2nd Grade: This week we continued our Hand Pollinator Design Challenge, assessing our pollinators and discussing how we could improve the process. 3rd Grade: This week we continued to learn all about fossils and the geologic timeline of the Earth. 4th Grade: This week we finalized our group designs for our prosthetic arm, and began to gather our material to begin the "Create" phase of the Engineering Design Process. 5th Grade: This week we continued to work in groups on our Ecosystem Model project. We finished our research on our areas, and began planning our Energy Pyramid models. 6th Grade: This week, we continued our unit on genetics by creating "Wisebots" with different characteristics, and learning how traits are passed down by combining genes with other Wisebots and creating their offspring with the use of Punnet squares. |
