Kindergarten: This week, we learned about polymers by creating slime out of borax powder and liquid glue. The students were able to make their own slime and took it home for further experimentation.
1st Grade: This week, we continued to learn about light. We discussed artificial vs. natural sources of light, and experimented with translucent, transparent, and opaque objects. 2nd Grade: This week, we continued to build our student-designed kites. We are looking forward to testing them very soon! 3rd Grade: This week, we began defining problems that could be solved by using magnetic devices. Students collaborated in groups to come up with possible solutions to these problems in anticipation of their Engineering Design Challenge using magnetism. 4th Grade: This week, we researched morse code and telegraphs and began designing our own morse code machines using light, sound, or both. 5th Grade: This week, we began the final phase of our chemistry unit by conducting research on different elements. Students selected an element of their choice to research and present about to the class. 6th Grade: We are continuing to work on science fair. The students began writing their abstracts and began bringing in their trifold boards.
