We hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. We could tell that the children were very excited to be back at school Wednesday.
Many of the children enjoyed building as a group with our big wooden blocks while others had fun matching up ice cream scoops to their cones and popsicles to their sticks. Some of the children enjoyed using roller brushes to paint brown onto a large piece of paper. While the children were painting we talked about how we were going to use the paper to create trees on our board for Tu B’Shevat. The children also managed our first fire drill of the New Year in a new location, our Katz Pavilion. As the short week progressed we enjoyed further discussions about Tu B’Shevat by reading books, singing songs, painting with green for our tress on the board, and ways to celebrate the tress. Friday was a quiet Shabbat in our classroom. During Temple we enjoyed having Jen with us to play the guitar and sing Shabbat songs with us as well as listen to a story from Rabbi Sari Shabbat Shalom T & T
