Welcome Back! We hope that everyone had lovely Seder’s and enjoyed the Spring Break. We are all so excited to be back at school. The children have grown and changed in so many ways, and we have hit the ground running. We loved hearing about all the exciting things that the children did over the break and what they are looking forward to in the coming weeks.
The weather has been beautiful and the children have really been enjoying their outside time. We have begun talking about the holiday of Yom Ha’atzmaut, which is the national day of Israel, commemorating the Israeli Declaration of Independence in 1948. We are looking forward to our celebration next Tuesday May 2nd. . Be sure to send your child dressed in blue and white. During discussions about the holiday and some Israeli symbols the children discovered that the Star of David in the center of the Israeli flag is made up of two triangles. The children then recalled the triangle shaped hat that Hamen wore in the story of Purim as well as the hamentashen that we made and ate during the holiday. The children also became so excited to remind us that the pyramids the Jews worked so hard to build in Egypt are also the shape of triangles. Many of the children enjoyed spending time at the art table mastering their cutting skills. While using the scissors to cut out triangles the children worked on the small muscle control in their hands, as well as understanding the concepts of shapes, sizes, color, and expanding their imaginations and creativity. Some of the children began making their own flags for next week’s celebrations. Friday, we enjoyed Shabbat all together as a class baking challah, singing songs, and saying the blessings. Shabbat Shalom T & T IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES TO REMEMBER
