Shabbat Shalom Everyone!!
Our week got off to a wonderful start when Brock came in our classroom to sing some songs and play a new instrument. All of the children sat so beautifully on the carpet and sang along. We had a week of art activites with everything from making new placemats to decorating a Tzedakah Box, which we are encouraging you to bring to Mitzvah Day on Sunday, Novermber 1, from 8:45-12:00. The length of our morning circle times is getting longer which shows that everyone's attention span is maturing. We're learning new songs and also singing our favorities, reading stories and we're practicing our counting skills as well. We even tried something new this week... Yoga!! We pretended to go on an adventure in the sea, on a picnic, and in our hot air balloon. We taught the kids different yoga poses, stretched our bodies and practiced crossing midline. All of these stretches help to strengthen our bodies and engage in fun exercises. We've implemented a new and exciting way of enjoying our daily snack. We are teaching the children to do the following: We place a cup, napkin, and a plate on the extra table and the children are taking one setting of each and then returning to their seat. The snack is in bowls on the tables with either a cup or spoon and we are helping them to pass snack around the table to encourage their independence. Then, we place all their snack options in bowls on the tables with a cup or spoon that they use to scoop out the food and put it on their plate. Before we eat, we all say Hamotzi. The week was great and we wish you all a Shabbat Shalom, we hope you all have a nice Weekend. See you on Monday! Michelle and Jen
