This past week we enjoyed our visit to the library. We would like to thank Jonathan’s mommy for coming in to read to us. The children really enjoyed the story “Dinosaur Roar”.
We have introduced the holiday of Tu B’Shevat. We are also leaving provocations around the room for the children to gain more insight and understanding about all things related to trees. There are books to read and study along with various plants to be touched and observed. Some of the children have begun to draw with colored pencils, crayons as well as paint some pictures of trees. Over the next couple of weeks, we will delve a little deeper into the holiday, discussing how plants and trees grow and all of the amazing things that we get from them. We are also looking forward to gathering with some of the other classes to have a birthday celebration for the trees, where we will get to taste some of the different fruits that grow on trees. We are also tying this into our discussion of cold and snow, specifically to talk about how the elements affect the trees and plants. A few of the children made individual challahs during our class time while others performed flannel board stores. We had a lovely Shabbat with Celine, her mom and sister Chloe. While in Temple we sang songs with Jen while she played her guitar and listened to Rabbi Josh tell us a story. Shabbat Shalom
