Last week the children were very excited to celebrate the birthday of the trees. They celebrated in Temple with the entire EC. We sang songs all together with Director Jen as she played her guitar. We also, helped plant a Myrtle tree outside behind Plotkin chapel. During some of our discussions about Tu B’Shevat we covered such topics as where trees come from, how they get to be different sizes, the different parts of the trees, and what trees give us. While discussing all these topics the children learned new vocabulary words, various concepts such as texture, size, weight, and color. The children were able to notice similarities and differences between different trees and plants as well as amongst themselves. Through these concepts the children are also working on understanding their feelings and the feelings of others.
We have continued to enjoy talking about Rainforest. Be sure to ask them how many layers Rainforest consist of. Friday we enjoyed a lovely Shabbat with James and his family. During Temple we enjoyed listening to Rabbi Josh tell a story. Shabbat Shalom T&T Dads and Grandfathers Week As you know next week is our annual Fathers/Grandfathers week. Dads and Grandfathers are invited to come in visit and hang out with their child any day throughout the week. Friday February 8th brunch begins at 10. Children do not go to the brunch.
