Chag Purim Sameach Ulpanon Bet Families,
This was a very exciting week! We celebrated Purim in various ways and had so much fun. It was an honor to join our friends in Explorers for Havdalah. The Ulpanon Bet children were invited to share the Purim story with the younger children. The story was told in a creative, detailed way, with animation and enthusiasm. The audience listened carefully and engaged by showing Kavod (respect) and adding another perspective to the story. During P.E with Coach Danny, we enjoyed a superhero exercise time. Each superhero had a chance to lead an exercise movement. We ran super fast, flew over cities, crawled and more. We continued to practice our tennis skills and used colored tennis paddles/rackets. The children worked individually and in pairs. After working up an appetite, we returned to class to bake triangle-shaped bourekas to eat with Israeli salad. One of the children said that the bourekas were shaped like Haman’s hat. We went to the synagogue for the all-school Megillah reading. The story was led by the Rabbis and Ditza, with the teachers acting out the characters. The children brought their ra’ashanim to shake when they hear the name of Haman. We were dressed as Purim characters. This week allowed the children to express themselves through different costumes and characters. Their personalities shined through the wacky hair, makeup and spirit. We welcomed spring and talked about the weather changing. One of the children had an idea: “Can we sing Mishnichnas Aviv (spring) instead of Mishnichnas Adar.” This was a wonderful idea and we kept singing it for the rest of the week. The children brought home their Mishloach Manot. They had fun putting them together and sharing items with their friends. During Yoga with Cheryl, we had a Shushan Yogs adventure, with each Purim charcter puppet holding a special pose. Thank you to Rabbi Sari, Kobi’s mom, for reading to us during our library time. She read: “Talia And The Haman-Tushies” by Linda Elovitz, “My Princess Boy” by Cheryl Kilodavis, and “The Littlest Pair” by Sylvia Rouss. special Dates:
Shabbat Shalom V’Chag Sameach, Meirav and Shoshi.
