Shabbat Shalom Ulpanon Bet Families,
We had a wonderful time at the Seder! The children were proud to share their connection to the holiday and their knowledge of the Passover story and the Haggadah. They sang the blessings and Hebrew songs mikol halev (with all their heart). Thank you so much for joining us and for helping us experience the Seder in a deep, meaningful way! We made a yummy Passover treat in class called Mimuelos and ate them in class and at our Seder. This is a traditional Sephardic dish that made its way from Spain via Greece, Turkey, Egypt and Israel. The children enjoyed mashing the boiled potatoes, breaking the matzah, cracking the eggs and adding cheese to the bowl. We fried the Mimuelos, added powdered sugar and served them with a choice of syrup. The children continued to enjoy Pesach during Yoga with Cheryl. They embarked on an adventure through Yoga poses with special Passover puppets. Music with Ditza was filled with upbeat Hebrew songs about animals and Passover songs. Some of the songs can be found at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMIELC0KFs4 During P.E with Coach Danny, the children divided into two teams for a game of “Prisoner.” They took turns throwing the beach ball over the volleyball net for the opposite team to catch. The children had fun as they waited for their names to be called. The best part was calling out, ‘Cherry Bomb!’ to get all the ousted teammates back in. Thank you for sending items for the SOVA Food Drive. The children were very happy to share food and to participate in fulfilling the mitzvot of chesed (kindness) and tikkun olam (repairing the world). Important Dates:
We wish everyone a Chag Pesach Sameach and a Shabbat Shalom! B’vracha, Shoshi and Meirav
