Shalom Ulpanon Bet families, What a fun filled, busy week we had in Ulpanon Bet! We started the week with PE with Coach Danny. The children worked on their gross motor skills and exercised their muscles by throwing a foam football and bean bags back and forth to their friends. They also worked on their hand eye coordination by trying to catch a ball attached with a string to a cup. The children had Music with Maestro, where he played his guitar and the children danced around to the rhythm of the guitar. We went to visit our 5th grade buddies in Room 41 with Leora Orevi. We sang songs in Hebrew to the 5th grade buddies and they sang songs to us as well. Leora also taught everyone a song about Tarnegol Hodu(Turkey) The children read the story Tiras Cham (Hot Corn) and also enjoyed some dramatic play by telling the story through puppets. The children had to find the corn that was hidden all over the classroom! They had such a fun time looking for the corn. Once they found the corn, they got to shuck it, cook it and eat it. We started to learn the story of Thanksgiving. We learned about the Pilgrims and the Native Americans, and we saw on the globe the long way in the ocean from England to America. We learned the song Todah (Thank You) to teach them how to give thanks on Thanksgiving. The children made patterns out of beads and squares of leather to make necklaces. They also painted turkeys on popsicle sticks and glued feathers on it. We had a visit from Rabbi Josh, where he taught the children two stories about Abraham. One of the children asked the Rabbi how Abraham figured out there was only one G-d. The second story told how Abraham saw three men wandering in the desert and he invited them in to his tent to drink water. They stayed for a feast and as they left, the three guests gave Abraham and Sarah good news that they would soon have a baby. We also enjoyed Music with Ditza where she sang songs related to Thanksgiving. We celebrated our first 5 year old’s birthday. Happy birthday Chloe! Asher was Shabbat Aba. Reminders: Our Friendship Fall Feast is on Monday. Lunch will be served. No school on Wednesday, November 23rd- Friday November 25th in honor of Thanksgiving. Shabbat Shalom, Talia, Meirav and Gali
