During this short week the children enjoyed indoor and outdoor activities. Many of the children worked together building on the rug with foam blocks and dinosaurs while others read in the book corner. We’ve even seen some of the children becoming doctors in our housekeeping area and many of the children enjoyed creating a very hectic fast paced office at our main table. Some of the children enjoyed catching the rain drops that came after the rain, developing their eye-hand coordination.
All the children enjoyed oranges for snack this week and did an amazing job at placing their orange peels onto a plate at the center of the table. It may not seem like a lot or a big deal but…this gave the children opportunities for social-emotional development as well as learning how to be responsible, and following directions. On Friday we were definitely rained in so we enjoyed a special Shabbat in room 23 with Rabbi Josh and all the other classrooms in the Hoffman building. After that we sat in our room on our rug and listened to the rain for a bit discussing many aspect of the rain.
