We’ve continued discussions about the rain and spent much of this week indoors where it was warm and dry due to the wet weather. Even though the children were inside where it was warm and dry they did enjoy listening to and watching the rain fall. We have enjoyed painting at the easel, creating clouds and their very own unique rain drops. The children also enjoyed looking at and sharing their finished rain paintings. So much that they have asked to make more next time it rains.
All the indoor time has really given us a chance to work on our sharing, counting, as well as shape and color recognition. We spent lots of time talking about what happens when you mix some colors together while making our giant grey rain cloud that also gave us an opportunity to count friends and paint brushes. We matched up colored shape buttons on cards and ducks on wooden cards. Many of the children enjoyed playing with the friends from rooms 23 and 25. We left our door open and were able to roam freely between the two rooms. While on Thursday some of the children from room 25 came in to play with us. Friday we had a lovely Shabbat with Shiloh and her family. We also enjoyed helping Michaela from room 23 celebrate her birthday with pizza lunch and mini cupcakes.
