This has been a lovely week with visits from the mommies and grandmothers in honor of Mother’s Day. The children were very excited to make and put together their Mother’s Day gifts.
The weather has been causing great confusion amongst the children and… the teachers. However, it has given us an opportunity to revisit, recall and expand our discussions about the rain, what happens after the rain and what we are beginning to see now that it is Spring, as well as what to expect as we roll into Summer. The children began to work on changing up our board, clearing away some of the rain to make room for some grass that they painted earlier in the week. They are also looking forward to discovering and creating a more elaborate garden. While discussing all of the things that we find in a garden, the children are learning new vocabulary, concepts of texture, size, weight, and color. The children are also beginning to sort, group, and observe the differences and similarities in the different types of flowers they want to create. And, lastly they are beginning to develop an appreciation for nature. Brayden has already shared that he has a garden at his home. We had a lovely Shabbat in our classroom with Sammy and his family. The children really enjoyed the delicious mini chocolate cupcakes that they brought in as a special treat. Then, we walked up to Temple where we met up with all the mommies and grandmothers. The singing in Temple sounded so beautiful. We would like to thank you all for joining us today. We really enjoyed the lovely story performed by Ditza, Cantor Emma, Cantor Lam, and Rabbi Josh. It was really a nice way to start off the Mother’s Day weekend. Shabbat Shalom and Happy Mother’s Day T & T IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES TO REMEMBER
