During circle time this week we continued to talk about the holiday of Sukkot. We discussed the Sukkah and all the special activities you can do inside such as eat, decorate and even sleep in it. During our class time we created all the parts needed to build our classroom Sukkah. Once that was done we placed our leaves on the top and hung the fruit that the children painted. We took a couple of trips to one of the many Sukkah’s on campus, singing songs with Andrew while he played his guitar, and continuing discussions of things that we do and bring to the Sukkah. We practiced saying the blessing to be inside the Sukkah and for the Lulav and Etrog as we shook it all around. We also explored some of our 5 senses that are used while spending time in the Sukkah. We learned that we can see the Lulav and Etrog and that we can see through all the sides of the Sukkah as well as. We can also see many different parts of the universe such as the stars in the sky when we are in the Sukkah at nighttime. We can hear all of the sounds that are around us because our Sukkah is outside. We could also hear the Lulav as we shook it.
We had a lovely Friday celebrating Shabbat with the friends from room 23. We enjoyed our Shabbat service outside this past week. We observed the beautiful sky and a cool breeze as we sang along with Ditza while she played her guitar. After, we listened to a story told by Rabbi Josh and Rabbi Sari. As Fall is approaching we will begin to explore the many sights, sounds, smells, and taste. Please take some time with your child to gather fall items and bring them into class. Shabbat Shalom, T & T Reminders School Closed – Monday October 1st for Simchat Torah .
