This week we enjoyed an intimate Havdalah in room 23 with Jen as she played her guitar. We talked about the symbols that are used during Havdalah as well as had an opportunity to hold the Kiddush cup, smell the sweet spices and examine the Havdalah candle as it is very different from the two Shabbat candles that we use on Shabbat. Now that we have been introduced to the Havdalah service we are looking forward to our next one with the entire EC in the chapel.
The children are continuing to show great interest in learning about germs. We did a couple experiments with the children on how germs are spread. Be sure to ask your child about it. Also ask them how to properly wash your hands to get rid of the germs. We are also modeling how to properly catch a cough with our cough catcher. Be sure to ask your child. We had a lovely visit with Cantor Emma this week. Cantor Emma shared the story of Noah’s Ark and how he saved two of every animal giving us an opportunity to learn about helping and caring for G-d’s creators as well as introducing us to some various types of weather in this case rain. As the weather begins to shift and the time changes we will explore the Fall season. If at any time between now and then you go on a walk with your child have them bring in an item out of nature that they found so that they can share it. We children had an opportunity to bake their own little challah in class as well as helped make a special apple cinnamon stuffed challah that we enjoyed tasting all together in class. We had a lovely Shabbat service in Temple with Ditza and Rabbi Josh. Shabbat Shalom T & T
