Shabbat Shalom and Happy Hanukkah!
This has been another wonderful and fun week. We started off our week with Teacher Brock! Everyone was so excited to see him. We got to sing songs in Hebrew and about Hanukkah and we even got to play the tambourine. We spent a lot of time talking about Hanukkah, the Hanukiah, driedels, candles, and practicing the prayers for when we light the Hanukiah. Our Hanukkah party was a huge success and we are so glad that you were all able to join in our celebration. Thank you for all the food, drinks, and cheer that you brought with you! The children have been doing so well with turn-taking and using their words with their peers. This past week we have seen such growth within each and every one of your children. During circle time, we continue to sing many songs, and have incorporated some movement songs as well. The children have to listen to what directions are in the song and follow them. We walk, tip-toe, gallop, run, hop, and skate. We continue to learn about colors, shapes, numbers, and the abc's. On Friday, we got to go to the Farmer's Market. Everyone walked up to the basketball court so nicely, holding a peers hand, and using their walking feet. Each child got to donate some money and then pick out the fruit they wanted to eat. We had cucumbers, apples, pears, grapes, blackberries, pineapple, blueberries, raspberries, and oranges. It was such a delicious snack! When we got back to our room, we got to have Shabbat and did all the prayers over the challah, grape juice, and candles. Just as we were about to go outside, it started to rain, so we got to join with the class next door and explore within the classrooms, as well as playing with some new friends. Thank you all for another great week. Wishing you all a Happy Hanukkah and we will see you on Monday. Hope you enjoy your weekend. Michelle & Jen
