Shalom Ulpanon Bet families,
With a cool week like the one we had, we treated ourselves to soup made in the classroom. The children helped peel and cut the vegetables before we cooked it. It was so yummy and perfect for a cold day! We continued to work on Winter, Choref, with picture flashcards that have winter vocabulary words, we also played memory game with Choref vocabulary words Two of our friends turned five on Monday, Happy 5th Birthdays to Claire and Sawyer! We had PE with Coach Danny where the children worked on their hand eye coordination by placing a ball on a cone and kicking it. The children worked with a partner working on this skills. We read the books HaMitryah HaGdolah Shel Aba (Aba’s Big Umbrella) and Yalda Achat U’mitryah Achat V’gam Gil Gil Gool V’gil Gil Gal (One Girl and One Umbrella and also Gil Gil Gool and Gil Gil Gal) this book is also a song and the children had fun singing it. Enjoy these two songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeiCTmqMyvs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoIlgMwjR40 Thank you to Jennifer, Aaron’s mom, who was our Library reader. She read the books “Martin’s Big Words: The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” and “The Story of Martin Luther King, Jr.” We took the chance to discuss fairness and skin color. The children noticed that we all have slightly different skin colors, and we talked about how we would not want any of our friends to have to attend a different school, or not be able to play with us, just because we do not look exactly the same. Claire was our Shabbat Ima her parents and grandparents which came all the way from Utah celebrate with us. Reminders: Wednesday, January 18th at 9:30 am in Udko Annex there will be a DK Breakfast. RSVP required at bit.ly/DKBreakfast . No school Monday, January 16th in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and no school Tuesday, January 17th for Professional Development Day. Shabbat Shalom, Talia, Meirav and Gali
