Dear Ulpanon Bet Parents, We hope you had a restful Mother’s Day filled with extra love and affection. We had PE with Coach Danny where we worked on basketball skills. The children were dribble-passing or shooting the ball. Coach Danny taught the children about triple-threat position, where the player can shoot, pass and dribble. We learned the proper way to dribble using one hand, and tried to dribble five times in a row. We learned the various parts of the basket: the backboard, rim and net. In honor of Lag B’Omer we had a picnic snack on the yard where we ate watermelon, and smores, complete with marshmallows that the children roasted. We invited Ulpanon Alef to come visit our class and we shared a snack with them as well as Music with Maestro. We sang (to name a few) Oseh Shalom, Driving in My Car, and Shir Mishpacha. The children had fun singing the song in opposite ways, when he would say “ach” (brother) they would say “achot” (sister) etc. We started working on the tallit squares for our PreK celebration. Thank you to Rebeka who was our library reader (in the class this week!) for reading to us “Sunrise, Sunset,” “No Rules for Michael” and “Thank You.” Camp Wise Directors Liz Broberg, Ashley Marx, and Tatiana Soofer stopped by for a special “Taste of Kindergarten Camp” for all PreK classes today! We did a runway relay, learned a new song called “Hermie the Worm”, and how to dance the boogie to Jackson’s “Blame it on the Boogie”! We hope to see them at Camp Wise this summer for more fun activities like swimming, sports, art, cooking, dance, science, music, martial arts, dress-up, petting zoo, bubble show, carnivals, Shabbat, and much more! We had Rabbi Josh, who spoke to the children about Shavuot and how we received the Aseret HaDibrot, the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai once we left Egypt. He talked about all Ten Commandments. We had Music with Ditza where we used bells to sing out a song and sang a variety of songs including “In The Classroom” in Hebrew and English. Thank you parents for a beautiful Yom Hamoreh event. The teachers had such a wonderful time. Everything was well-planned with much detail and attention. The food, flowers, gifts, cookies and much more. Thank you for your support. Thank you to Claire and her mom who helped us celebrate Shabbat. Reminders: Friday, May 26th Logan is Shabbat Aba. Tuesday, June 6th is the last day of Enrichment. Looking forward: No school on Monday May 29th-Wednesday May 31st. School will resume on June 1st. Shabbat Shalom, Gali, Meirav and Talia
